Dutch Clean Tech project in Mexico

Anyone walking into the Dutch Clean Tech office in Mexico City notices it immediately: this is where it happens. Meetings with governments, conversations with industrial parties and partners, new project locations and technical and financial planning all run continuously side by side.

Mexico has since grown into an important market for Dutch Clean Tech. Where it started a few years ago with building contacts, DCT is now a well-known name in the Mexican water sector. CEO Sander Pielkenrood regularly travels to Mexico for high-level talks with governments, ministries and partners. Earlier, Dutch Clean Tech signed, among other things, an MoU with the Mexican ministry SEMARNAT.

How strong that network has become was recently made visible at Aquatech Mexico 2026. Dutch Clean Tech had a prominent presence at the trade fair and spoke there with existing relations, governments and new potential partners.

Notably, DCT has to explain itself less and less. The name is known, the projects are being talked about and, above all, the model with which Dutch Clean Tech delivers water infrastructure attracts a great deal of interest.

After all, DCT does not come with technology alone. It brings together technology, financing and long-term operation. With the Build-Own-Operate model, new water infrastructure can be delivered without the customer having to make the full investment up front. In Mexico in particular, where the need for reliable water infrastructure is great, that offers enormous opportunities.

Meanwhile, the Mexico City office is working hard to turn those opportunities into concrete projects. Project locations are being investigated, technical plans developed, financing structures set up and agreements made with public and private parties. All with one goal: taking projects from the drawing board to realisation.

Outside the projects, too, ties with Mexico are growing ever closer. For example, CEO Sander Pielkenrood was recently invited by the Mexican embassy in the Netherlands to the celebration of Mexico's 216th Independence Day. Soon we will also share groundbreaking news about his role for the Mexican Embassy, to be continued.

Mexico is buzzing and Dutch Clean Tech is right in the middle of it. In the coming period, we will therefore take you behind the scenes more often: from the office in Mexico City, to the people who build here every day and, of course, to the projects themselves.
