Developments in Dutch Clean Tech projects in Mexico

The water challenges in Mexico are great, and that is precisely where structural opportunities lie. Dutch Clean Tech develops and operates water treatment projects in which technology, financing and long-term contracts come together.
With the capital you invest, we are building concrete, operational projects that contribute to water security and generate stable, predictable cash flows. This forms the basis of the targeted return of 9% per year.
Would you like to know which projects you are investing in? Below you can read about two projects that are currently in development and in which our investors' money is actively being deployed.
Puerto Interior (Guanajuato), water for logistics & industry
In the logistics heart of Mexico, we are working on designing a central wastewater treatment plant for Puerto Interior, a large industrial and logistics complex near the city of León.
- Capacity: 15,000 m³ per day
- Contract term: 20 years
- Reuse of treated wastewater for non-potable industrial applications
With this project, our investors' money is deployed in an essential infrastructure project that reduces groundwater extraction and enables sustainable industrial growth. We expect to complete the technical and financial closing in the third quarter of 2026. Construction can then start.
The total investment is USD 33 million. This investment is earned back over 20 years. Over the term, our investors receive 9% interest on their investment. Because of the long-term and stable cash flows, this contract has a value of well over USD 50 million, based on a sector multiple of 8x.
Holbox (Quintana Roo), clean drinking water for the island community
On the idyllic island of Holbox, we are developing a small-scale drinking water treatment plant for hotels, restaurants, households, medical posts and schools.
- Capacity: 1,250 m³ per day
- Concession: 25 years
- Construction time: approximately 6 months
Holbox suffers from a structural shortage of clean drinking water. This project combines societal impact with a local sales model, in which water is supplied to end users per cubic metre.
We are doing this project together with a strong local partner. We expect to have the joint venture set up in April. We will then start the design and construction phase immediately. By the end of 2026, we aim to deliver the first cubic metre to customers.
The investment is USD 5 million. We earn this investment back over 10 years. Over the term, our investors receive 9% interest. Our share in the joint venture will have an expected value of USD 6.5 million, more than enough to cover the investment.
These projects contribute to a strong and growing portfolio in Mexico. The capital made available by investors is carefully deployed in tangible infrastructure with long-term contracts, local presence and professional management. In this way, we build scale, impact and stable returns step by step, while you benefit from a targeted return of 9% per year.
